Dedication of Bayou Courtableau Water Trail

November 10th is a BIG DAY for the paddling community. We are finally going to officially open and dedicate the Bayou Courtableu pilot trail in the Atchafalaya Basin. Please see bayoutrails.org for details. Directions are listed below. Its a long drive for a short paddle but please come out and show your support for the Atchafalaya Basin Program and the Atchafalaya Water Trails volunteer operation and maintenance organization.

DIRECTIONS:

From the East: .Travel 6 miles West of Krotz Springs on Hwy 190. Cross the bridge marked Spillway Road and immediately exit 190 to the right on to an unmarked dirt road. Follow the road as it loops around back under 190 and heads West again. Turn left (south) on the road at the top of the levee. Travel 1 mile on the top of the levee until you see the Levee Landing on your left. The Levee Landing is a small white wooden building down on the left (East) side of levee road.

From the West: Travel 12 miles East from I-49 on Hwy 190. Just before the bridge marked Spillway Road exit to the right on to an unmarked dirt road. This exit road will lead you to the road on top of the levee. Travel 1 mile on the top of the levee until you see the Levee Landing on your left. The levee landing is a small white wooden building down on the left (East) side of the levee road.
